Good idea Jeff. That was what was going though my head in the emergency room. Why was I in the emergency room. Your looking at it. It was a boring summer day in June 1996, I was sitting around the house with my brother trying to figure out something to do. Then I got this great idea. I'll make a clock out of a bowling ball and pin. I thought that this would be so cool, and it would have if I ever finished it. I went to Deseret and found the only AMF ball that they had and bought it. I took it home and decided to cut it in half so that It could hang on the wall. Anyway, I cut a 2 inch deep groove all the way around it and then took a chisel to it. I was going to stick the chisel in the groove and hammer it down thinking that the ball would just split apart. No suck luck. So I pulled the chisel out and started prying at some cracks in the shell that I had created. Somehow I slipped on one of the cracks and stuck the chisel into me leg. It was pretty funny because it didn't hurt at all. It didn't bleed either. In fact I wasn't sure how bad it really was. I asked my brother what he thought and he said that he wan't sure. So I waited about 4 hours until my dad got home and I asked him. He told me that I better go get it looked at. So I went to the emergency room and got 8 stiches and lots of laughs from the doctors. Now I got a nice scar to remind me what a good idea that clock really was. I do plan however to finish it someday after I figure out the best way to do it.
