AMF Angle, Yello

Weight: 14 pounds

High Game: 269

High Series: 701

Boy, can I tell some stories about this ball!!! Out of all my bowling balls if I had to choose my favorite of all time this would probably be the one. It may not have hit the hardest, it may not have scored the highest, but it was always the most reliable ball I own. I was given the Angle when I was 14 by one of the junior coaches in the league I was bowling in. She really thought that I needed a urethane ball so that I could improve. She also wanted me to learn how to throw a fingertip grip. So she gave me one of her old balls, The Angle, and payed to have it drilled for me. This turned out to be the turning point in my bowling life. I bowled my first 700 with this ball and it made me improve enough to keep me interested in the game. After the 14 pounds became to light for me I bought a new ball and just kept the angle around for emergency cases. Six years later it is still my emergency ball. About 2 years ago I was bowling against Shawn, my good friend, in league. It was really important to my ego that I defeat Shawn because he was my friend and his team was in first place. The first two games I did pretty well, I believe that I averaged about 200 for those two games. But, right at the end of the second game I ripped a blister open on my thumb. It was a bad one too. Now I don't usually quit for anything but this one was bleeding and I could see all the raw skin. Boy it hurt. I wasn't about to quit though. So I tried bowling with my Rhino(the ball I used in the first two games) but it hurt to bad. So I thought that that was it. I was going to forfit and lose to my friends in first place. But no, wait, I had my yello angle with me. I imedieately pulled the ball from my bag and started throwing strikes. I ended up shooting over 200, securing my 600 sereis, and beating Shawn.

By the way, I also own two other yello angles. One is drilled conventional and is 16 pounds. The other is drilled fingertip and is 16 pounds. I have bowled 200's with each of them.
